What are the latest hair transplant procedures?
Strip hair transplantation is an approach that transfers strips of follicular grafts from one area of your scalp and transplants them in the area where thinning is taking place. The procedure is done under local anesthesia, helping you remain comfortable from start to finish.
This approach requires suturing in the donor area to close your skin and facilitate healing. Strip hair transplantation is a good fit for those with high hairlines, male or female pattern baldness, or to correct the results of previous procedures. It can be a more affordable option than other types of transplantation and takes less time.
Another option is called follicular unit extraction, or FUE. This approach allows as many as 2,000 individual grafts to be performed in a single session. The first step is numbing your scalp before shaving a small area at the back of your head where you have thick hair.
Next, the FUE treatment platform uses pneumatic pressure to remove individual hair follicles from the donor area quite rapidly. Those follicles are then individually implanted in your scalp in the areas where additional hair growth is desired. A high percentage of those hairs will settle into their new location and begin to grow normally.
