About Botox & Jeuveau
- Worry lines – horizontal lines across the forehead
- Elevens – vertical creases between the eyebrows
- Crow’s feet – wrinkles on the outside corners of the eyes
What Are Neuromodulators?
Botox and Jeuveau are also known as neuromodulators and muscle relaxers. When injected precisely, neuromodulators reduce movement to the muscles that create wrinkles on the face. Both Botox and Jeuveau are FDA-approved muscle relaxers that help smooth wrinkles on the skin, and the results are natural-looking.
Why Use Botox and Jeuveau?
It’s quick and it’s easy. Botox is the #1 wrinkle treatment in the world for that very reason. Although Botox and Jeuveau are used most commonly by women, it is equally effective for men and becoming more and more popular with younger men and women as a wrinkle prevention treatment. Botox is also used off-label to treat other areas of the face and neck, as well as medical conditions such as hyperhidrosis, TMJ, and migraines.
How Are Botox And Jeuveau Treatments Performed?
Botox and Jeuveau are injectable treatments performed in-office by Dr. Kovacs and Dr. Schuster at their Boca Raton clinic. You will receive a skin evaluation and facial movement assessment prior to treatment. During your evaluation, the doctor will mark the precise locations where Botox or Jeuveau will be injected for best results. Your doctor will also determine the quantity of the solution needed to reap the desired results. The treatment itself only takes a few minutes to perform.

RESULTS ARE NOT IMMEDIATE
Are Neuromodulators Safe?
Neuromodulators are not only safe, but effective with very few side effects when performed by a qualified and experienced cosmetic doctor. Common side-effects you may experience include slight redness or swelling at the injection site. These side effects will quickly clear up after a few days. In rare cases, a person might develop antibodies against Botox, which will render the procedure ineffective. If this happens, your doctor will be able to recommend an alternative treatment. Results with BOTOX® Cosmetic and Jeuveau usually last three to four months, so to maintain your rejuvenated look, retreatment is necessary 3 to 4 times a year.
Neuromodulators vs. Dermal Fillers
Botox and Jeuveau are often used in conjunction with dermal fillers. Dermal fillers add volume to the cheeks and lower part of the face including the lips to further restore more youthful contours to the face and jawline, while Botox and Jeuveau work by relaxing facial expression muscles. In other words, dermal fillers restore volume to strategic areas of the face that’s been lost with age or weight loss. For more information, visit our dermal fillers page.
