Revison Breast Surgery Before & After Photos

This 48 year female came to see me with a common problem many years affter having breast augmentation with the 1980's type of silicone breast implants.  Her implants were placed over the muscle and had severe hardening.  They appeared distorted and and were painful.  She was embarassed to have anyone hug her.  She told me she underwent a breast augmentation in 1985 and had repeated problems with capsules.

On my examination of her I folund her to be a lovely woman with very realistic expectations.  She wore a 34B bra, but due to the abnormal shape of her breast it became increasingly difficult to find on that fit.  She had svere grade III to IV capsules (graded I- mild to IV - Severe and distorting).  I suggested removing the implants, the scar capsules, and placing new silicone gel implants under the muscle.  I did not feel a lift was needed or appropriate at the time.

She underwent a bilateral capsulectomy and  a submuscular reaugmentation in my accredited office operating suite under general anesthesia.  I used Mentor Moderate profile plus 300cc silicone gel implants.  Her course was uneventful and now has soft natural looking breasts.
