Your Procedure, Your New Look

Dr. Schuster often performs two different types of arm lifts for Boca Raton patients. If you have a smaller amount of sagging skin, particularly focused near the armpit, a "mini" procedure can be performed to tighten and recontour the arm. The advantage of a mini arm lift is that incisions (and as a result, scars) are contained entirely within the armpit. This procedure also requires less surgical time, taking about an hour in most cases.

For patients with more significant sagging and loose skin, the standard brachioplasty procedure is most appropriate. Using an incision that extends the length of the upper arm, Dr. Schuster removes loose skin and may use a Boca Raton liposuction technique to extract excess fat tissue. The incision is placed on the inside of the arm to minimize visible scars. The standard arm lift procedure takes about 2 hours to perform.

Almost any surgical procedure will leave some degree of scarring, and arm lift is no different. A standard arm lift procedure requires an incision that runs from the armpit to the elbow, on the inner side of the arm. My patients often say that the resulting scar is a welcome tradeoff to enjoy a tighter, more toned arm appearance.

What if my arms have loose skin and excess fat?

It's not uncommon for women and men to have both loose skin and fat on their arms. I can perform liposuction during your arm lift to remove the fat tissue. The result is a substantially improved arm appearance.
